Stop it with the fic where Steve is terrified of Natasha, or Maria, or Pepper, or guh, Darcy. I guess people think it’s cute, or whatever.

Seriously. Strong women don’t make Steve scared, they make him swoon.

The only thing Steve is afraid of is that strong women won’t like him.

Acting like Steve is afraid of women also ignores one of my favorite moments of the movies, where Steve isn’t sure if Clint can be trusted, but he looks to Natasha and it just takes one nod from her for Steve to be okay with it. He respects people who know what they’re doing, male or female.

Plot twist: The next companion is a normal girl/boy who only dies once in their lifetime and has no remarkable back story but he thinks they’re wonderful because they are human and the Doctor needs reminding that you don’t need to be a mystery to be remarkable.

This sounds like a good campaign, and taking a different tactic to raising awareness and getting people’s attention, hopefully people get the message and don’t just laugh it off.

I know the obvious point is “it would be ridiculous if Superman was blamed because he wore tights right?” But, I think using Superman is also really powerful, because (besides the use of him in tights to send the message about clothing) it shows that no matter how physically powerful you are, or if you’re a man, you can still be assaulted. The clothing message is the obvious one, but by using a powerful superhero icon, there’s also the messages about not victim blaming people by speculating on if they could have fought back, or inventing ways of how they could have fought back (and therefore should have) or “but you’re so much bigger than them”, “why didn’t you try to escape?”, or that you must believe somebody has to be “weak” to be a victim of sexual assault (either claiming they must have wanted it because they’re not that “weak”, or insisting that they are because they were assaulted).

And if we can believe Superman can be assaulted, then maybe we can believe the non-powered people we meet IRL when they say so too.

I wanted to share this because it’s about using superheroes to get a really important message out.

And I just kinda stood there, I was like, “I’m not going in, I wanna see what he does”, so I guess he didn’t have any idea, coz I didn’t tell anybody. so even Johnny, our first AD, was like, “Hey, hey, cue!” and I was like, “I know, I know, that’s fine”

JENSEN: So I’m sitting there in the front seat and hear the play back, the big speaker, and we’re outside. We’ve got extras walking down the street and cars flying by, and this whole thing. We got two cameras set up—which is why it’s edited together so a lot of people were like no way, they had multiple cameras set up, there was just two cameras set up—and so I’m sitting there, doing the drumming and he should have been here by now… something’s going on—why is he not—he should have stopped it—what’s that—well here come the words…the first line is rising up… That’s just too good. And then I just, I went with it, and then you notice maybe as I’m climbing out the car window that I kinda like, I start smiling and I almost started laughing and I turned and I’m like “No, keep going, keep going, you can do this”
